Winter Guide to Teton Valley, Idaho: Best Restaurants, Hotels, and Activities

#1. Forage Bistro & Lounge (Driggs)

There’s something extra comforting about Forage in the winter months. Located in the Driggs, ID airport and ajoined to the WarBird Museum, diners can explore aeronautic history before or after a tasy meal. With a chef inspired menu and a use of as many local ingredients as possible, it’s our top pick for a special meal.

#2. Knotty Pine BBQ (Victor)

This is our unofficial locals' hangout here in Victor, ID. When it’s cold outside, The Knotty's BBQ never fails to hit the spot. In this family friendly restaurant you can sit back, warm up, and enjoy our favorite eatery in Teton County. With more of a laid-back vibe, it's the best spot to drop in after a good day in the snow without having to go back to your hotel to change. Keep an eye out for any live bands playing here as well!

#3. Rise Coffee House (Driggs)

Cold mornings call for hot coffee and Rise Coffee House is the spot. Their to-go breakfast options are perfect for fueling up before heading to the slopes, and their lattes—especially the seasonal flavors—are steamed to perfection.

#4. Teton Thai (Driggs)

There’s nothing like a plate of steamy Thai cuisine to chase away the winter chill. Teton Thai has some of the best Thai food in Teton County and a classy-cozy atmosphere that's hard to resist. Teton Thai is right in downtown Driggs making it the perfect place to go after a mosey through the shops on Main.

#5. Butter Cafe (Victor)

If you’re looking for breakfast or brunch, Butter Cafe is a cozy spot that locals love. Across the street from The Knotty Pine, you can find the ultimate comfort food with options for the whole family. Butter is located in downtown Victor making it a good place to start the morning before a stroll through town or a trip over the hill to Jackson.

#2. Moose Creek Ranch (Victor) $$

Moose Creek Ranch feels like stepping into a snow globe in the winter. The rustic cabins and luxury yurts are surrounded by snow-covered trees with a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and telling stories about the day's adventures. It’s close to town but feels secluded enough to be a full on winter getaway.

#3. Teton Creek Resort (Driggs) $$

This spot is great for families who need more space. Their condos have full kitchens and living areas so you can cook your own meals and have a warm place to unwind. It’s also close to Grand Targhee Resort, so it’s perfect for skiers.

A trip to Victor Emporium for a huckleberry milkshake is a year-round tradition, even in winter. It might be cold outside, but trust me—the milkshakes are worth it. With endless places to snowshoe in the area, Darby Canyon transforms into a real life snow globe when the snow falls. If heading out into the mountains alone seems slightly out of your comfort zone, incredible snowshoe tours are offered just over Teton pass in Jackson. Snowshoeing is one of my favorite ways to explore the trails, and it’s easy enough for kids to join. The quiet of the forest and the crunch of snow underfoot make it a magical experience.

#4. Sleigh Rides

There are a few local ranches that offer sleigh rides, as well as ranches in Jackson that will bring you into spectacular views of the Tetons; it’s a must-do for families visiting in winter. Snuggle under blankets as you ride through snowy fields with the Tetons as your backdrop. Some sleigh rides even include a stop for hot cocoa and cookies.
